“Ek’èt’à (Returning)” represents the celebration of community efforts, and all that it has provided me over the duration of my education at Thompson Rivers University and time in Kamloops, BC, and the opportunities provided from students and faculty afterward.
As a returning artist, I felt it was necessary to use materials from the log in “Emotive Ascension” as it was still on campus. Audio logs on the ground resonate compositions made up of mixed sounds that have been submitted by the public of Kamloops, BC. Video projections depict some of my favorite places and memories from the residency, and serve to activate the hanging pieces of wood, as sage collected from around campus lines the exterior.
