TRU Gallery OM 1578
January 7 to January 17, 2020
Reception: Tuesday, January 14, 3 to 5pm
The exhibition aims to question the value of everyday items. In consumerist culture, common objects are frequently taken for granted. Items are produced in large quantities making them easy to discard and replace. The mass production of objects decreases their value and creates excess waste. With environmental pollution being a pressing issue in the contemporary world, it is important to reflect on the consequences of consumerism. Through art, the value of the everyday can be restored. The exhibition encourages viewers to consider everyday items in a new way.
